The Love of Family
What is it that fuels you? For me, I am determined to contribute something positive to the world. I love writing about my passions and what interests me. I enjoy learning about what interests others and sharing all of my thoughts with my readers. Creating a Blog has been a goal of mine for quite some time now. The events that we are experiencing in our communities, our country, and the world, have motivated me to bring this part of my vision to fruition.
A Peaceful Place For Us is genuinely my little passion project, and I pray that it will serve as a forum where we can share and learn from each other's perspectives. Enjoy browsing my site, and I hope that we will have many productive collaborations. I created A Peaceful Place For Us to engage in candid, revelatory dialogue, share our viewpoints, emotions, and ideas about the pandemic, police brutality, working for equality, and coping with the complexities of life.

Carrie "Beth" Lofton
Data Analyst
Carrie "Beth" Lofton, my oldest daughter, is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. Beth is a Style, Events, Travel, and Consulting Influencer who resides in Houston, Texas. Better known on her social media platforms as "Poppinista," Beth is also a Data Analyst for a major Technology Company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is dedicated to finding ways of serving her community, & looks for practical ways to make a positive impact. Her passions include fashion, traveling, and networking. Beth is currently developing an online retail outlet for women.
Arielle "Brea" Lofton
MS, RDN, Dietician
Arielle "Brea" Lofton is my middle daughter and is a graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. Brea also received her MRD from Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas, and completed her RD Certification the following year. She is currently working as a Registered Dietician in New York, NY, developing Nutrition Programs and initiatives for low-income families across five boroughs. She is passionate about improving the quality of life for communities in need. Brea loves creating new pescatarian recipes and healthy snacks. She enjoys yoga, painting, pilates, and helping her clients learn how to live healthy lifestyles with proper nutrition and exercise.
Maya "Blisse" Lofton
Medical Student
Maya "Blisse" Lofton is my youngest daughter and is currently a Medical Student in Seattle, Washington. Maya received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health from The University of Texas at San Antonio. The concentration of her undergraduate studies included Health Promotion, Behavioral Science, and Biology. Maya is now studying Naturopathic Medicine, and her passion is healing through the use of science-based natural medicine with a holistic approach that treats the whole person, mind, body, and soul. Maya's outlook on holistic health care and preventative medicine fuels her passion to promote community wellness. She plans to open a Wellness Center to provide support services for medical care, nutrition, education, and mental health services to those in need.
