Although I've heard it dozens of times now, the "all lives matter" response to "black lives matter" sends me swirling every time I hear it again. It's impossible for me to understand how "all lives" would not have to include "black lives". I heard a very interesting analogy on Tic Tok that if the Fire Department responded to a fire alarm and while they were putting out the house that was on fire a neighbor said "Hey what about my house? My house matters too! Can't you douse some water on my house to make sure it doesn't also catch on fire?" The Fireman responds, "The emergency is the house that's already burning, and unless we concentrate our efforts on extinguishing this flame, your house could be in jeopardy of catching on fire from the embers that could potentially blow over to your home if we don't make sure we resolve the immediate issue with the house that is currently burning."

Please share your thoughts on what we can do to stand up for Breonna Taylor. It's been almost four months since Breonna was shot eight times by plainclothes officers while sleeping in her bed on March 13th. These officers were serving a narcotics search warrant and were at the wrong apartment. No drugs of any kind were found in Breonna's apartment. Although reports indicate that Federal officials are "working urgently and expeditiously" to investigate possible civil rights violations by the Louisville Kentucky officers who murdered Breonna, no arrests have been made to date.
